We provide assessment, therapeutic, and parent consultation services for children, adolescents, and their families from a school neuropsychological perspective. Our approach is individualized, evidence-based, and collaborative. We work closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and to develop a plan that meets those needs. Our goal is to empower our clients with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their education and social-emotional supports and interventions in a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment.

About Vanessa Hong, Ph.D., NCSP, ABSNP
Dr. Hong (she/her) is a Maryland licensed psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Diplomate in School Neuropsychology, and certified youth yoga instructor who specializes in assessment and consultation for children, adolescents, and families from a school neuropsychological perspective. Dr. Hong is dedicated to providing personalized and comprehensive evaluations that help identify the root causes of learning difficulties, developmental delays, and behavioral and emotional challenges. She works closely with parents, educators, and other healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child and family.
Education & Training
Dr. Hong earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology, concentration in cognitive psychology, and minor in sociology from Duke University in Durham, NC, and her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in school psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Hong has trained in school systems across Maryland, the University of Maryland, nonpublic schools, nonprofit centers, and private clinics. She completed her school psychology internship and has worked as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist in public school systems in the central Maryland area, and is certified by the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP).

Experience
During this time, Dr. Hong has provided psychological services to children and adolescents from toddlerhood through high school in the areas of psychological assessments, psychoeducational assessments, school neuropsychoeducational assessments, IEP/504 Plan development, therapeutic and behavioral interventions including counseling and FBA/BIP development, and parent and teacher consultation among other services. Dr. Hong specializes in how learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, developmental delays, intellectual functioning, and anxiety impact the occupational and personal functioning of children and adolescents. She is committed to helping families better understand their children’s learning and thinking style, and navigating how to best support their child through their educational career and home life. Dr. Hong feels strongly about matters of equity and social diversity which she carries throughout her scope of practice.
